What is a Campmoon?!  Well, I actually came up with the term last year while my kids were at sleepaway camp! My hubby and I packed up and headed for the Greek Isles and enjoyed the freedom of being away and not worrying about the kids’ schedule, school pickups, sports, etc.

I have been able to plan so many trips for clients to Greece, I knew I had to check out all the places my clients had been raving about. So away we went…Mykonos, Santorini and Porto Heli. (We skipped Athens due to timing, but we know we really want to take our kids to Athens).

Mykonos— Yes, it is the island to see and be seen!  We stayed at a new hotel called Katikies Mykonos with beautiful, simple, white doors and plunge pools outside of most rooms. This property is not directly on a beach, but views are awesome. You will be going to beach clubs for the Mykonos experience on your own anyways!

Nammos Beach Club on Mykonos— We conquered and excelled! Travel tip? Do not oversleep! Get there by 11am to snag a chair. Travel Agent fail on my end with jet lag in full effect. Ideal stay? 3-4 nights (we stayed 2 and it was way too short!)

Ferry Time— A ferry from Mykonos to Santorini was next and really glad I got to experience this. It was very nice, large and although a bit crowded for me, I have to say it’s incredibly easy and reasonable to get you from one island to another. If budget is not an issue, do a helicopter transfer!

Santorini— This could be the island I was most looking forward to. So many amazing properties and beyond romantic. The white buildings, cliffs and bright blue touches— it really does look like the pictures. I stayed at Katikies, Canaves Oia Hotel and Canaves Suites. Lots of moving parts, just the way I like it!  All of these properties were gorgeous and seeing them all helps me when placing clients in the right location. Having dinner with my friend Markos was a highlight as his family owns all of the Canaves properties on the island. This is the reason my clients are treated like royalty at the Canaves properties, thank you Markos!

Porto Heli— Amanzoe, you have my heart!  I have never stayed at an Aman resort before and I am totally hooked. My husband and I were blown away by this property. I felt like I was in Colorado with a beach. The mountains and beach all in one— does it get much better? The spa, beach club and restaurants were perfection. Travel tip? Don’t leave the kiddos at home! There were so many families and so much to do. This was unexpected and exciting for me as now I know were to send my clients looking for something off the beaten path in Greece! Location? Yes this is remote but truly an authentic experience in Greece. A day trip to Spetses was probably one of the highlights of our entire trip! Travel Tip? Book an overnight here and enjoy the island. With no cars and a sea that is serene, you’ll want to spend time here. Meeting the locals and enjoying the day was perfect. Ideal stay for Amanzoe? 4-7 nights!

Heading home from Athens after 9 nights, even Travel Agents have things go wrong.  Our flight was delayed and we missed our connection! So we ended our Campmoon with an unexpected night in London. I was able to stay at a property I send SO many clients to— Rosewood London, what a treat!  I was so excited to get this magical one night in London and see the property all my clients rave about. It lived up to all my expectations! One thing not to be missed at Rosewood is the bar! From customized drinks to fancy waiters, we loved the experience and cannot wait to return when I have more time to see all that it has to offer.

Stay tuned for Campmoon 2019!
